Kayak Demos - Try a wide array of sea and whitewater kayaks
and pick the boat that's right for you. Our fall kayak
and gear sale is a great way to get your own kayak and
gear at discounted rates. Be ready for next spring's paddling
season. All paddling gear provided, call for an appointment.

2. Novice/Beginner
Kayak Skills Training: British Canoe Union 1-2 star skills
- Learn and practice the basic skills that form the foundation
of effective paddling. Develop an awareness of the relationship
between your actions and the reactions of your kayak. We use
drills, games and races to help you enjoy learning the basics
of kayaking: safety, balance, use of the torso for power,
rescues, introduction to equipment and group awareness. Novices
and up, great class for paddlers of all levels, tune old skills
and learn the basis for new ones. All paddling gear provided.

3. Intermediate
Kayaking Skills Training: BCU 3 Star - Develop precise
and efficient kayak paddling and rescue skills, and increase
your safety awareness, based on the BCU 3 star kayak syllabus.
Efficient use of the torso and lower body to maneuver the
kayak, essential gear, paddling in wind, design and function
of kayaks, paddles and clothing, technical performance of
crisp strokes and maneuvers. All paddling gear provided.

4. Novice-beginner
(BCU1-2 star) Skills Assessment - Test your basic (BCU
1-2 star) skills and prepare for more advanced training and
assessment. This is a 2-3 hour test with games, drills and
scenarios filled with fun and interesting paddling. A 2 star
kayak skills assessment is s pre-requisite for a 3 star kayak
skills assessment. All paddling gear provided.

5. Advanced Sea
Kayaking Skills Training: BCU 4 Star Sea Kayak - Spend
a day developing open water paddling skills that will help
you to be a useful member of a sea kayaking group in conditions
of up to: 11-16 knots of wind, 3 knots of tidal stream current,
and 3 ft. surf (4.5 ft. breaking waves). All paddling gear
provided.

6. Intermediate (BCU 3
star) Skills Assessment - Show that you have complete
control of your kayak on flat water with crisp and technical
performance of defined strokes and maneuvers. This assessment
is a pre-requisite for attending coaching courses and the
4 star sea kayak assessment. All paddling gear provided.
Dates: September 7, 14, 21, 26, 27, 28 or

7. Ride the Tide - Practice
paddling a sea kayak in the tidal stream into scenic Halibut
Cove Lagoon channel on the flood tide. Develop moving water
skills in a sea kayak such as edging, low-brace turn, low-brace,
wet exit and assisted rescues. This is a fun, adventurous
and unique paddling destination. All paddling gear provided.

8. Across the Bay Adventures.
Water taxi across Kachemak Bay and spend the day honing
your sea kayaking skills while exploring one of several destinations
on one of our local day-trip paddling adventures. 1) explore
Gull Island and Petersen Bay/China-Poot Bays, 2) Sadie Cove
Tour, 3) Eldred Passage Exploration, and many others. Pre-requisites:
ability to swim, and wet exit. All paddling gear provided.

9. Your Paddling Shtick
- Custom Events - Sea, whitewater or surf kayaking, open
canoe solo and tandem, flat and whitewater - basics to advanced
skills, instruction, assessment, trips or guiding. Take advantage
of the wide range of our paddling experience and teaching
skills, and allow us to help you enjoy paddling in as many
ways as your imagination can stretch. All paddling gear provided.
Minimum of 3 paddlers. Call for more details or to explore
the possibilities.

10. Advanced Sea Kayak
Skills Assessment - BCU 4 Star Sea Kayak - Do you have
the skills, knowledge, experience and equipment to be a useful
member of a sea kayak group with a competent leader paddling
in up to moderate conditions ? Is paddling in force 4 winds,
3 knot tidal streams or 3 ft. surf (4.5 ft. breaking waves)
easily in your comfort zone? Then the four star sea kayak
skill set is your ticket. We can schedule the one day four
star sea kayak assessment upon demand and if conditions allow
- need approximately 2' surf and some tidal current to schedule
an assessment. Contact us for details. This is the most desirable
skill set among sea paddlers! Really fun too!!
