Instruction is the
Alaska Kayak School specialty. We teach several paddling disciplines:

surf kayak
whitewater kayak
Open canoe solo and tandem
Open canoe flat and whitewater
And much much more!
Themes of all our courses include: safety, fun, effective and efficient
strokes and maneuvers, independence, rescues, knowledge of equipment,hypothermia
avoidance and clothing, wilderness tripping in Alaska, and more
fun.
Our instructors are not just avid paddlers, they are ACA
instructors and BCU kayak
coaches. Our course plans
adhere to the proven techniques practiced by the British Canoe Union. |
If you are interested in 'testing the water' of
kayaking, or are an experienced paddler looking for some fine
tuning of your technique, we are confident we have the resources
to provide you with a great day on the water and improve your
skills and knowledge of paddlesports. Our primary goal is to
maximize your enjoyment of paddling by helping you develop the
skills and awareness that make you an efficient, safe, and capable
paddler. We regulary teach all skill levels ranging from Senior
citizens who have never sat in a kayak to strong and experienced
sea kayak guides.
